Daniel is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer who specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, franchising and trade practices. Prior to joining Holding Redlich as Partner, Daniel was in the Corporate and Commercial practice group at a national law firm for almost 8 years.
Daniel has substantial experience in advising Australian and International companies that distribute goods or services through a network, or who maximise the value of brands, technology or other forms of intellectual property.
Daniel has advised companies operating and/or controlling (via licensing or franchise arrangements) many of Australia’s most recognised branded retail networks including the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, Burger King/Hungry Jack’s, Blockbuster Video, Baker’s Delight, Boost Juice, Caltex Australia, Honda MPE, Hairhouse Warehouse, KFC, Pizza Hut, Isuzu, House, Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Michelin and Stockdale and Leggo.
Daniel’s experience includes advising clients regarding:
- mergers, acquisitions and disposals of businesses and companies
- private equity and venture capital transactions
- business, corporate and partnership structuring and restructuring
- joint venture arrangements
- the development of franchise and other types of channel distribution arrangements including general structuring advice, preparation and/or review of franchise agreements, master franchise and area development agreements
- trade practices law including compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct, the Oilcode, pricing, supply, market conduct and consumer protection issues
- corporate and commercial agreements generally (including manufacturing, distribution and licensing agreements)
