Different ways of resolving your family law matter

At Holding Redlich, our preference is to assist you to reach an agreement with your partner about your family law matters. This minimises your stress and fi nancial costs. It can also help preserve a positive relationship with your former partner, which is especially important if you have children together.

There is a variety of different ways or “pathways” you may try to reach agreement with your former partner about children’s matters and property settlement. Every relationship is different and so one pathway might be best for one couple, while another pathway will work better for another couple. We will assist you to fi nd the right pathway for you.

If you and your former partner are not able to reach agreement immediately, this does not mean you will end up in Court. Sometimes people need to try a variety of pathways before agreement can be reached. A small number of people are unable to reach an agreement and in those cases a determination may need to be made by a Court or arbitrator.
