Jennifer practices in employment, industrial and anti-discrimination law where she focuses on assisting individuals.

Jennifer has acted for people who:

• have been dismissed or are facing dismissal;
• are subject to disciplinary proceedings;
• are negotiating an employment contract;
• have restraint of trade issues;
• are returning to work after parental leave;
• have raised governance or compliance issues in their workplace; and
• have not been given their entitlements under their contracts, awards or certified agreements.

Jennifer provides advice to unions on the interpretation and application of industrial instruments, the right to take industrial action and rights and obligations under union rules.

In dealing with these matters Jennifer has been involved in proceedings in the Victorian Magistrates’ Court, Supreme Court of Victoria, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Federal Magistrates’ Court, Federal Court, the Fair Work Australia and disciplinary tribunals

In November 2008 Jennifer was elected as a Councillor for the City of Melbourne. She holds the portfolio areas of Community Services and Arts and Culture.

Before becoming a lawyer Jennifer was a secondary school teacher and communications consultant and she has skills in developing and presenting education programs.
