Chris has over 25 years experience as a construction and infrastructure specialist.

Chris has a particular interest in major infrastructure projects, and also specialises in the law relating to architects' and engineers' liability.

Chris' areas of expertise include arbitration and alternative dispute resolution; architectural and engineering issues; building contract drafting and advice; consultants' retainers; construction and infrastructure litigation; development agreements and tenders.  Chris' clients includes architects, contractors, developers, engineers, project managers and Victorian Government departments.

Major government projects include:

  • acting for Major Projects Victoria drawing the design and construct contract for the $200m Melbourne Rectangular Stadium Project;
  • acting for the Department of Innovation, Industry & Regional Development negotiating the long term operation agreement for the $200m Australian Synchrotron Project;
  • drawing for the Office of Major Projects the managing contractor agreement for the $300m Federation Square project;
  • acting for VGPG in the fit out of the Southern Cross Development for the Department of Innovation, Industry & Regional Development, Department of Justice and the State Revenue Office; and
  • acting for VGPG in the fit out of 50 Lonsdale Street for DHS.

Other major projects include: Alfred Medical Research & Education Precinct - acting for the principal; Austin & Mercy Hospital Relocation project - acting for the engineer; Bayside Health - acting for the principal in a new car park project; Victorian Hospitals Cogeneration Project - acting for the design and construction contractor in this $60m BOOT project; Flemington Race Course - drafting the $40m contract for the new grandstand at Flemington Race Course constructed for the VRC; Docklands (Colonial Stadium) - acting for the project managers in respect of their $360m project; MCG Northern Stand - acting for the architects and the superintendent of this $400m project; Northern Hospital at Epping, Victoria - advising and drafting the design and construct contract for this $57m project; and National Gallery of Victoria Redevelopment Project - acting for the Contractor.
