His major projects include managing large, complex Supreme Court actions for public listed company clients through to sensitive professional partnership disputes. He also has experience in a number of IT and IP matters, including trade mark applications and litigation. Toby’s focus is on assisting clients to approach dispute resolution from a commercial perspective. Toby has particular interest and expertise in use of alternative dispute resolution processes, including how those processes can be used in the wider business or organisational context. Toby is an accredited mediator in both Australia and the UK and he has conducted a number of mediations in both countries. Prior to joining Holding Redlich, Toby worked for the UK’s largest dispute resolution provider, the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), advising parties, lawyers, businesses, government departments and others about the effective use of dispute resolution processes such as mediation, expert determination and independent intervention. Toby also has experience in financial services and regulation, having worked in the enforcement division of the UK’s Financial Services Authority (FSA). His major projects included market abuse and insider dealing investigations into senior managers of international listed companies, hedge funds and “insider dealing rings”. Toby was also a member of the FSA’s settlement and mediation expert group, and recently has been awarded as a Specialist Accredited in Commercial Litigation. Qualifications Memberships |
