Toby advises both private and public sector clients in a broad range of industries, including media and entertainment, wholesale and retail, biotechnology and information technology and has worked in-house in some of these industries.

He primarily provides advice in the following areas:

• corporate and commercial – drafting, negotiating and advising in relation to commercial matters including regulatory and trade practices compliance, share and asset acquisitions, joint venture and distribution agreements and various commercial agreements
• intellectual property – protection, enforcement, commercialisation, licensing and transfer of intellectual property rights including trade marks and copyright
• information technology – advising on issues in relation to e-commerce, websites and software development including licensing
• media and entertainment – advising on and preparation of documentation for the financing and production of feature films, television programs and documentaries.

Toby also has experience in commercial litigation and has appeared in the Supreme Court of Victoria and Federal Court of Australia.
