National law firm Holding Redlich is pleased to have awarded the winner of the Flying Arts Alliance ‘Art For Life’ award, presenting the $10,000 prize to Cairns-based artists Rose Rigley and Pamela Kusabs.
The annual award celebrates and showcases the work of visual artists in regional and remote areas of Queensland.
As part of a three year program, Holding Redlich has partnered with the Flying Arts Alliance, sponsoring the annual ‘Art For Life’ award which is part of the Queensland Regional Art Awards.
This year’s winning artwork is a sculpture made with paper, mixed media and copper wire. Titled ‘Resource Removal’, the piece makes an environmental statement about the impact of human habitation.
The announcement about the winner was made by Holding Redlich at the QCA Griffith University’s POP Gallery in Brisbane yesterday, at a client event held amid the works that form part of the ‘State of Diversity’ exhibition.
Queensland Managing Partner Paul Venus congratulated the winners and said Holding Redlich is very proud to be able to support such innovative artists in their creative endeavours.
“Congratulations to Rose and Pamela for their eye-catching, meaningful artwork,” Paul said.
“We are delighted to award them this prize and wish them all the best for their future projects.”

Holding Redlich has a long history of supporting the arts and is also the major sponsor of the Salon des Refuses exhibition at the SH Ervin Gallery in Sydney, the Masters Program exhibition at the Victorian College of the Arts, and the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.
